Go Kart Derby Race

I learnt a lot from our derby race. One to be braver than before to go down steep hills. Second to build my confidence up when crowds watch me. I found it hard to ride down that steep hills, using my friends go kart. I found it easy to do it once again now that I've built that confidence up. I really enjoyed riding a go kart in my first go kart derby challenge. I had so much fun that day and everyone else did as well.

Wellington Camp reflection/ Slide show

I really found it challenging to write more than five slides. Lucky I did cause the minimum of slides was five. The hardest part about creating a wonderful slide show was the remembering. The easiest part about the slide show was putting the it into spark adobe. I really enjoyed creating a slide show that reflected my amazing camp in Wellington. Next time I'd like to add more slides about every place that we went to in Wellington.

Zealandia writing reflection

Our class has been learning about the places that we will be attending to when we head to Wellington. I wrote an imaginative piece of writing that shows everything Zealandia. I put every important fact from the information report into an imaginative piece of writing. I found it easy to put the key facts into a piece of writing and add the detail that my writing needed to make it more outstanding. I found it hard get more ideas that would go with my writing. I really enjoyed creating imagination to design detail that would go into my writing.  Here's my writing.

I stare outside the bus window, watching the birds fly beside me and the reptiles camouflaging into the dark green leaves. Everyone on the bus is being as noisy as chirping crickets, no one pays attention to the view of native birds and reptiles, only me. The bus comes to a complete stop. Some students jump off the bus and go to the toilet, before we head of. When there’s only me, waiting in the second to last seat of the bus, but then I decide to go...  as I come out from the toilet, the bus has disappeared, gone.

“Why would they leave me here” I think to myself. I’ve been waiting at the stop for over three hours, the sun was setting, the day was getting colder and even the far landscape is almost a turning pitch black. I walked towards the road, looking right and left before crossing, then I reached the bush... and found a sign with only saying half a message.

As the day got darker and the warm sun air went cold I began to get tired, so sleepy that I couldn't see the branch that tripped me up. “Chirp chirp, squawk”. I gasp and wake up, the birds had led me to their hideout where they knew I’d be safe. Their habitats were amazing!!, the graceful waterfalls flowing throughout the forest and the rushing breeze blowing the trees back and forth.

but all of a sudden… “Thump, thump” the noise gets louder and louder until… “Bang!!” the gecko's head popped out of the shadows and gave everyone a terrific fright. As many of us were being gulped down the gecko’s throat, I woke up… The trip to Zealandia was over we finally arrived to school. “Honestly I’m relieved it was just dream and not in real life”.

Imagine a night reflection

We have been given a chance to create our very own imagine a night. The year 5 and 6 students were the first to do imagine a night. First read our Zealandia piece of writing then equally wrote an
imagine a night story. Everything must be reflected to your writing so if you put them close towards each other they should be equally the same but in different word structures. I found it easy to create this imaginative piece of writing. I found it hard to find more ideas that can help my writing. I really enjoyed making an imagine a night writing. There's nothing that I need to work on.

Maths reflection

Our learning in room 4 for the past few weeks is symmetry. We got given task and challenges that's to do with symmetrical art. We created reflectional and rotational pieces of art that were presented on the wall. I got confused during the process of symmetry but now I know what rotational, symmetrical and reflectional symmetry is now. I found it easy to create an amazing symmetrical art. I found it hard to find a shape before continuing with the drawing. Next time I'd like to work on brainstorming what particular shape that I should use.
